Mill Dene Garden opens at night for the new Maggie's Centre under construction in Cheltenham
Saturday 5 December 2009, 6 - 8pm
Maggie’s Cotswolds is proud to announce a festive spin on our popular Open
Garden events! On Saturday 5th December, from 6-8 pm, come along to Mill Dene Garden, Moreton-in-Marsh. For one night only, this beautiful garden, owned by Barry and Wendy Dare, will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland, perfect to get you into the Christmas spirit!
Mill Dene is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and with a garden tended by a Chelsea Flower Show judge, even the most discerning horticulturist is bound to be impressed. There’s history here too, with a mill at the heart of the garden that’s almost certainly Norman. The garden is normally only open to the public from April to October, so this is a rare opportunity to see it in all its winter glory!
Entry is £5 for adults, £2 for children (5 to 15 years). Tickets can be bought on the night and include the essential mince pie and mulled wine with Christmas carols and songs from two famed local choirs, the Gloriana and Blockley Blokes Choir.
There’ll also be provision for Christmas shopping, with local crafts and Christmas cards for sale, as well as the garden shop, so you can find that special gift that won’t be in the high street!
For a taster of what will be on offer go to www.milldenegarden.co.uk– the garden is truly magical and you won’t be disappointed!
Proceeds from the event will go to Maggie’s Cotswolds, where building of the centre in Cheltenham is progressing apace! Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres provide emotional support, stress reducing strategies and advice to cancer patients in a relaxed and caring environment. Support is tailored to the needs of each individual, and in every case is completely free of charge. The planned Cotswolds centre will support the 3 counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and will be the seventh centre to open in the UK when it opens its doors to the public in 2010.
