Miss Scotland and Mr People's Postcode Lottery visit one of the venues on Maggie's Glasgow Night Hike route
Miss Scotland took a tour of Glasgow's brand new arts resource, Trongate 103, for a sneak peak of what's in store for Maggie's Glasgow Night Hikers this Friday night.

Miss Scotland, Nicola Mimnagh, joined former Mr Scotland, Angus Purden, for a tour of Trongate 103, which is opening its doors exclusively to participants of the first-ever Maggie’s Centre's Glasgow Night Hike.
Night Hikers will have access to four of the arts spaces within Trongate 103 on the night of the event – Glasgow Print Studio, Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre Show, Street Level Photoworks and The Russian Café-Gallery Cossachok.
Nicola and Angus got a sneak preview of these shows, enjoying a kinetic theatre performance, before sitting down for a cup of tea together in Café Cossachok (as pictured). In authentic Russian surroundings, and over a classic Russian tea urn, Angus and Nicola traded stories of holding the prestigious Mr and Miss Scotland titles (Angus was Mr Scotland in 1992).
Trongate 103 joins GoMA, Kibble Palace, the Cloisters at Glasgow University, and Maggie’s Glasgow Centre as venues throwing open their doors for the Glasgow Night Hike, which is a ten mile walk around the city, taking in architectural points of interest.
Maggie’s Events Manager, Claire Benjamin, said: “The Glasgow Night Hike is going to be one of the most original nights out in Glasgow this year. We are so pleased that Trongate 103 is confirmed for the route, as it is a truly stunning venue, with fascinating arts spaces. Our night hikers are in for a real treat when they stop here on the night. Maggie’s Centres help people to build a life with, through and beyond cancer, and by signing up for the first ever Glasgow Night Hike, you will be directly helping us to support people affected by cancer.”
Angus Purden is a great supporter of Maggie’s Centres, having visited centres across the UK in his role as the face of the People’s Postcode Lottery – the charity lottery, of which Maggie’s Centres are one of the official charity partners. The People’s Postcode Lottery has raised £1,254,912 for Maggie’s Centres across Scotland, since launching in January 2008.
Maggie's Glasgow Night Hike takes place on Friday, 17th September.
