“It is fantastic to have the backing of the South Wales Evening Post and the coverage today has shown a great start. The paper is so well read in the region and therefore, the articles will hugely increase our awareness in the area and help boost numbers for the first year of Mighty”

Maggie's starts a fantastic new media partnership with the South Wales Evening Post

Maggie's and the South Wales Evening Post have launched a media partnership, which will help to raise awareness of Maggie's brand new challenge event, Mighty Bike & Hike, which takes place in the spectacular region of south Wales.

Hikers en route

The inaugural Mighty Bike & Hike will raise essential funds for Maggie's to help towards the £3million target to build a permanent centre at Singleton Hospital, Swansea. There is currently already an interim facility on site.

The respected newspaper will encourage people from the region and further afield to sign up to the event, which involves a 30 mile cycle followed by a hike of your choice - 15, 27 or 45 miles.

The South Wales Evening Post will be running a series of articles over the following weeks detailing what the event involves, plus informative and moving stories about Maggie's and the benefits it will bring to the region, including real-life interviews and celebrity endorsements.

Maggie's Head of Communications, Marie McQuade, said: "It is fantastic to have the backing of the South Wales Evening Post and the coverage today has shown a great start.  The paper is so well read in the region and therefore, the articles will hugely increase our awareness in the area and help boost numbers for the first year of Mighty.  Maggie's are known for our challenge events, having ran five successful years of a similar event in Scotland, called Monster Bike and Hike. I am sure readers of the South Wales Evening Post will be inspired to sign up for Mighty Bike & Hike after reading the wonderful articles that the paper have planned."
