Family Sessions at Maggie's Lanarkshire this summer
During the school summer holidays this year, Maggie’s Lanarkshire is offering a number of activities especially for families affected by cancer.
Children, young people and adults are invited to take part together in sessions including:
Eating Well: talk about healthy eating and create your own fruit smoothie recipe
Relaxation in the Woods: start a campfire, try woodland crafts and try a relaxation session … outdoors!
Indian Head Massage workshop: learn how to give each other this relaxing therapy
Scrapbooking: bring along a photo and get crafting!
Maggie’s Lanarkshire is an uplifting, welcoming place where people with cancer, their family and friends can receive the support they need. Maggie’s is open for people to drop-in for information, emotional and psychological support and to develop skills that might help them to live more positively with their cancer diagnosis.
In addition to the Family Sessions, people are welcome to drop in for a chat with one of our Cancer Support Specialists or Clinical Psychologist, or join in our regular programme, such as relaxation groups, tai chi, scrapbooking, benefits advice; workshops and courses on living with cancer and its treatment or coping with stress; and sessions focusing on eating well or hair loss.
The Family Sessions will take place on Wednesdays throughout July. Please phone 01698 358 392 to book a place or drop in on weekdays between 9am-5pm. You can also email lanarkshire@maggiescentres.org
