Lorraine stirs it up for Maggie's!
December 2011

What do Lorraine Kelly, the Duchess of Cornwall and Rothesay, First Minister Alex Salmond, Nick Nairn and 150 people from the north east have in common? They’ve all provided their favourite tried and tested recipes for the Maggie’s Centre Recipe Collection.
Lorraine was in Dundee at the Westport Apartments penthouse kitchen stirring up a pot of her Mum’s famous chicken soup to help raise funds towards the £10,000 target set for sales of the new book. Every penny of the £10 cost per copy will go to Maggie’s Dundee.
Speaking yesterday Lorraine said “Maggie’s centres throughout the UK do a wonderful job helping people whose lives are affected by cancer. They help during very difficult times and offer a wonderful mix of practical support, counselling and information.
"There’s a huge variety of tasty recipes in the collection that will make the mouth water and it would make a lovely Christmas present for family and friends. There are advance orders for over 400 books and they are selling quickly, so I’m urging everyone to get their copies soon!”
Maggie’s Centre Recipe Collection can be purchased in Dundee at Waterstones, Robertsons of Broughty Ferry, Maggie's Dundee, the Eduardo Alessandro Gallery and Westport Serviced Apartments or by phoning Eileen on 01382 456783.Fife Diamond Garden Festival, supporting Scotland's Gardens Scheme

Sunday 30 May 2010

A fabulous lunch was held in the Lovat Hotel Perth to raise funds for Maggie’s Centre Dundee. The lunch was hosted by Maggie's Associate Board members Shirley Linton and Joyce Leslie accompanied by, soon to be, board member Jenny King.
MC for the day was Andy Cameron who also oversaw the auction, which included a one off creation by milliner to the royal family, Philip Treacy OBE. The beautiful hat was a creation in duck egg blue with a profusion of grey feathers. It was a much talked about centrepiece at the lunch and is now being worn with pride by its new owner.
The ladies were entertained by Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists The Chippen Doubles, who made a special appearance. Also present was author, Martel Maxwell, who was on hand to sign her new book.
The total raised on the day was £10,000.
